AWARD-WINNERS 2022

On October 26th, the juries announced their winners of the 69th edition of the Premios Ondas in Barcelona.

With some 68 editions under its belt already and held annually since its foundation in 1954, the Ondas Awards have duly kept up with the goal of both acknowledging and promoting radio, music and television productions that, both nationally and internationally and in all genres and formats, have been seen to contribute elements of innovation, while improving audience experience.

These awards represent a true insight into the current talent of both the Spanish as well as the international audio-visual sector.

In this edition, 559 entries from 15 countries worldwide have been presented.

Among the awards being competed for in this 69th edition, one category in particular, that of National Radio stands out, with the Ondas for Best Local Radio Programme now truly consolidated, along with a notable increase in the number of entries submitted for the award of Best Podcast or Digital Broadcasting Programme.

The national and international juries, made up of 25 radio, television, advertising and music professionals, have been entrusted with deciding upon this year's winners, who are up for a total of 22 awards.

War crimes. With the investigators in Ukraine

It also portrays how a new methodology is being used to analyse armed conflict, combining social anthropology with that of social network content and digital cartography. By means of this award, the jury not only wishes to recognize the value of such a high quality work, put together in record time to narrate a truly contemporary history, but also to vindicate the importance of journalism at times of violence being perpetrated on a major scale and its role in recording and gathering evidence that in the future could be used in a trial for war crimes or those committed against humanity.

Achieved via its host who, in first person tells of their experience migrating, underpinning it  with the testimonies of those near and dear to him. This creates a radiophonic experience which mirrors the economic crisis of 2008, standing out both for the sensitivity and empathy with which it treats the subject. It leads listeners to reflect on the emotional dimension of migration and addresses mental health issues with a great deal of tact. Not only is the narrative outstanding, but so is the sound design, acting to create a sense of intimacy between the voices that appear and the listener.
